GO BACK 2006 2004-2005

Mrs. Monk's Would-be Diary, should have been written by Mrs. Monk, since she is the "Writer" in the family.
However, since she is a writer only in the conceptual sense, I have undertaken to fill these pages on her behalf.
If not by her, these pages will certainly be about her, and other important matters of the day

Leslie Monk, the long suffering.

Mrs Monkís

Would-Be Diary

Flaming Machines and Secret Lips

16 April 2006

Mrs Monk buys CD in the same way that she buys shoes; before parting with our money, she doesn't check that they fit.

And like her mountain of unused shoes, this weeks CD buys are unlikely to get used more than once, if we ever achieve a complete listen.

She may be forgiven, because of these CDs received 5 Star reviews in The Guardian, ostensibly comparable with. Highway 61 Revisited, Revolver, OK Computer, and anything by Ryan Adams.

Mrs Monk Easter buys

Flaming Lips, annoying novelty noises

Morrisey is no longer celibate yawn?

Secret Machines still not heard to the end.

All of these records have their moments we suppose, but donít you just wish The Guardian would get real with the 5 star reviews, and save it for what really amounts to something worth buying.
