Mrs. Monk's Would-be Diary, should have been written by Mrs. Monk, since she is the "Writer" in the family.
However, since she is a writer only in the conceptual sense, I have undertaken to fill these pages on her behalf.
If not by her, these pages will certainly be about her, and other important matters of the day

Leslie Monk, the long suffering.

Would-Be Diary

A very nasty man.

This years Summer Show at the Royal Academy continues to have a yard sale mentality that we love to hate, but worth a visit, if only to see this jaw dropping Damien Hurst bronze sculpture, that offended a middle class lady overheard in the court yard. “He must be a very nasty man”, she said.

The final room in the gallery is perhaps the best we have seen in the Summer Show featuring the ageing YBAs, including Tracy Emin and The Chapman Brothers. and hung by Tom Philips.
